CNBLUE’s Jonghyun talks about his past on Mnet’s “Director’s Cut Season 2″

Recently, CNBLUE’s Jonghyun guested on Mnet’s “Director’s Cut Season 2“, a program that transforms past hit songs into a 2011 version.
After listening to “Mallipo Love“, CNBLUE’s Jonghyun left for Mallipo Beach with fellow bandmateMinhyukGirl’s Day Sojin and Minah, and Nayoon.
-
During the recording, a conversation was started off with the question, “Who do you think will be surprisingly cheap?” The members chose Jonghyun because of his usual ‘clean’ image.
However, Jonghyun didn’t look surprised by their answer, as he began to confess about his past with a smile on his face – surprising everybody at the filming.
As he came up from the countryside, Jonghyun stated that he did not know how to dress well before his debut. He revealed that at one point, he lived in just one tracksuit.
Because it was before CNBLUE had any legitimate activities, he thought that he didn’t need to care much about his looks and could walk around in comfortable clothes.
Jonghyun finally received a wake-up call when he arrived to the office one day to work on music, but the staff members did not recognize him. Although the staff members recognized him shortly after, the shock Jonghyun received from their statements caused him to become more conscious about what he wears.

This episode of “Director’s Cut Season 2″ is scheduled to air on May 13th.

With three tracks that were originally only released in Japan and plenty of photos of the members, we hope that it will become a great present for our fans.”

CNBLUE talks about stereotypes and their friendship on Mnet’s “M SoundPlex”

CNBLUE recently guested on Mnet’s “M SoundPlex” and shared their thoughts on the various stereotype rumors they’ve had to deal with as idols since their debut.
The band was first revealed to the public as a talented, all-around idol band that was capable of writing, composing, and live performances. Unfortunately, with the group being tagged with ‘idol’, the public took it to mean that they were just kids taken from wealthy families that pretended to know how to compose songs and play instruments.
Calmly, the members explained, “We know that there are a lot of misunderstandings regarding our image. However, 10 out of our album’s 12 tracks were self-composed, but the pubic isn’t usually aware of that. The members also play instruments on stage 100% live. People are quick to say that we’ve never gone through any hardships, but that’s not the case at all.  We’re actually glad that they think like that.”
The conversation was then carried over to the topic of Yonghwa’s popularity. Contrary to what the public thought, the members revealed that they were not jealous at all. “Yonghwa hyung suffers so much to get our name better known with the public. We’re always apologetic for that and think to ourselves that we have to work that much harder too.”
They continued, “Because we feel sorry for Yonghwa hyung having to go through so much schedules, we’ll usually all wait up for him in the dorm instead of sleeping. If we can’t stay up because it gets too late, we always leave a text message saying, ‘Sorry hyung. We’re sleeping first!!’”
With a laugh, they added, “Sometimes Yonghwa hyung will bring us delicious snacks at night.”
Check out the full broadcast on April 23rd.

CNBLUE’s Lee Jung Shin reveals his shy personality towards women

CNBLUE grabbed the hearts of many fan girls with their recent street-like concept comeback. This gave the group a very strong look, however, that doesn’t seem to translate in reality for one of the members, as member Lee Jung Shin revealed his shy personality towards the opposite gender.
On this week’s episode of SBS’s Strong Heart, he stated, “I can’t talk very well in front of women. Especially in music programs when we meet various girl groups, I just get very tense and nervous.”
Jung Yong Hwa, who was also present at the recording, also stated, “It’s a bit of problem because he makes his nervousness so obvious.”
Especially with that long hairstyle that gives off a “greased up tough boy” look, it’s hard to imagine this guy as what was described above.

Jung Yonghwa once had a ‘fan meeting’ while wearing only a bathrobe

CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa shared a story about a unique ‘fan meeting’ he once had while staying at a hotel.
Appearing on the latest episode of SBS’s “Strong Heart“, Yonghwa began his story by explaining,  ”It happened during last year’s overseas performance. While I went to go take a shower, Minhyuk came over and fell asleep in my room.
He decided that he had no choice but to switch rooms with Min Hyuk, and so proceeded to take the elevator in his boxers, wearing only a bathrobe as a cover. He stated, “I thought nothing would happen while I went down two floors to the 15th floor.”
Yonghwa elaborated, “It was an elevator that only worked when you slid your card [into a slot]. It suddenly operated and went down to the lobby on the first floor. When the door opened, I saw several fans there.”
Panicking at the thought of a crowd, he allowed a few fan girls to get into the elevator with him. Yonghwa explained, “My manager was there at the time, so an embarrassing situation was able to be prevented. But when I looked at myself in the mirror, I was shocked by my appearance.”
The idol explained, “I expected wet hair, but I was wearing a damp shower cap instead, so I looked like an old lady.”
