SME considers adding another concert date for “SM Town Live in Paris”

On May 1st, 300+ French K-Pop fans held a flash mob event at the Pyramide de Louvres in Paris to attempt to convince SM Entertainment to add another concert date to their “SM Town Live in Paris” concert.
Korean media outlets like MBC and SBS covered the event, and it seems the efforts of the fans have paid off, as SM Entertainment has announced that they’re discussing plans of adding an extra concert date.
Representatives stated, “Not only French fans, but all K-Pop fans of Europe participated in the flash mob event.  Because of the overwhelming support we’ve been receiving from our European fans, we will be checking our artists’ schedules and discuss adding another date to the concert.”
The first concert, which is currently scheduled for June 10th, sold out all 7,000 seats within 15 minutes of tickets going on sale.

‘Korean Connection’ and French reporters visits SHINee at SM Entertainment

On April 20th, French reporters and Hallyu fanclub ‘Korean Connection‘ finally made their visit to theSM Entertainment building, where they met up with the members of SHINee.
Interacting with 54 French fans, SHINee also took part in a 30-minute long interview with major press agencies, talking about the culture of K-Pop and their extensive popularity overseas. The French media outlet, ‘Le Monde’, asked questions on SHINee’s pre-debut training, their promotions all across Asia, and whether they were aware of their popularity in Europe.
Before the interview began, music videos were played, which immediately drew cries of joy from the audience. Despite the lyrics being fully in Korean, every fan followed along and even chanted the members’ names.
When SHINee finally made their way to the front, the fans welcomed them by singing “Hello“.
SHINee also confirmed at the event, “On June 10th, we’ll be holding an SM TOWN LIVE concert in Paris, France, at ‘Le Zenith de Paris’.”

SMTOWN LIVE in Paris confirmed for June!

SM Entertainment’s massive in-house concert, “SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR“, will finally have a stage in Europe!
On April 20th, SM Entertainment revealed, “‘SMTOWN LIVE’ gathered much success and interest from foreign fans during the concerts in Seoul, LA, Tokyo, and Shanghai. Therefore, this upcoming June 10th, we are planning to meet our French music fans at the ‘Le Zenith de Paris’ venue in Paris, France.”
SM Entertainment is the first Korean entertainment company to hold a collaborative concert in Europe. The venue where they will hold the concert is famous for hosting concerts from international superstars like Ne-Yo, The Pussycat Dolls, and the Jonas Brothers.
TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, and f(x) – who are all scheduled to attend – are also at the center of the K-Pop wave in Europe. Indeed, just last January, a nationwide TV channel called 2TV gave a report on Europe’s Hallyu craze, which cited SM artists as the center of the wave.
BoA will not be attending however.
SM Entertainment stated, “From the Paris concert, we plan for our company’s artists’ to have more global activities – surpassing Asia and extending into America and Europe – by taking advantage of a wide variety of networks.”
